UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. 4 Penn State football will make its first-ever appearance in the College Football Playoff, as it will host No. 10 SMU in the first round on Saturday, Dec. 21. Kickoff is slated for noon in Beaver Stadium and the game will air on TNT and Max.

The First Round game will be a Penn State White Out. The winner of Penn State-SMU will take on Boise State in the quarterfinal game at the VRBO Fiesta Bowl.

This will be the third-ever matchup between the Nittany Lions and the Mustangs. The Nittany Lions are 1-0-1 all-time against SMU. Penn State defeated SMU 26-21 in 1978 while the two teams tied, 13-13, in 1947.

Information for Those Who Requested Tickets by November 22

For those season ticket holders who requested their College Football Playoff First Round tickets by the Nov. 22 deadline, the credit card used to submit your First Round ticket and/or parking request will be charged today. Tickets previously requested will become visible in Penn State Account Manager later today. Mobile ticketing is the exclusive delivery method for all tickets and printed tickets will not be issued.

Football season ticket holders and Nittany Lion Club members will have access to an exclusive presale beginning at 10 a.m. ET on Monday, December 9. The presale will end at 2 p.m. ET on Monday, December 9.

Public Sale

Subject to availability, tickets go on sale on Monday, December 9, at 2:30 p.m. ET
