Nicely decorated place that is incredibly comfortable with an abundance of deeply cushioned couches that are extremely comfortable after a long day of walking. The issue is they messed up on their Cod order which was served with dozens of bones which we did not know about. Unsuspectingly, someone could easily choke on the serving. They should have mentioned before my order this is how it is served. Other than that issue the service was quick and polite. Still, this is not a place I would come back to again.
It is a grand cafe but you dont need to pay grand price for it, the service is great, and the food tastes really good in generous portion, for those vegetarian folks who wanna try the Francesinha, they offer three options: beef, chicken and vegetables, the vegetarian one tastes really amazing!
We traveled to Braga unexpectedly after finishing our journey in Porto and found it to be a very welcoming city. We made a stop at the Vianna and tried “cachorro” and Bacalhau a Braga. All very good, affordable prices and good service. Special thanks to our waiter Luis for everything.
Don’t miss this dining experience in Braga. With outdoor seating you can enjoy the foot traffic and the fountain while you dine in an elegant eatery. Food is great. We had the burger and the chicken wrap, another dinner at our table enjoyed the squid, saying it was the best in town. Service was excellent. Full bar and Coke products.
Initially we were just seeking shelter from the rain, but then we decided to stay and eat lunch. Good call!
It’s a café founded in 1858 that’s still going strong. You’ll find typical Portuguese dishes and a variety of sweet desserts.
I ordered bacalhau à Braga (must eat if you’re in Braga) and cheesecake for dessert (made in house).
The cod dish was tasty and generous, but the highlight was definitely the cheesecake. It was marvelous!
We also had a marvelous chat with the owner about the place, and she showed us around and took pictures for us.
I’ll definitely return if I’m ever in Braga again!
